The House Education and Workforce Committee has scheduled two hearings for Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Both hearings will take place in Room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building and will be open to the press. The events will also be available via live stream on the Committee’s YouTube page.
At 10:15 a.m., the Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Development, chaired by Representative Burgess Owens (R-UT), will hold a hearing titled "Public Funds, Private Politics: Examining Bias in the Truman Scholarship Program." According to the committee announcement, this session aims to address concerns about potential bias within the administration of the Truman Scholarship Program.
Later that day at 2:00 p.m., the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Subcommittee, led by Representative Kevin Kiley (R-CA), will conduct a hearing called “Safeguarding Student Privacy and Parental Rights: A Review of FERPA and PPRA.” This hearing is set to review current federal laws related to student privacy and parental rights.
Both hearings are part of ongoing oversight efforts by congressional subcommittees focused on education policy issues.
