House subcommittee holds hearing on opportunities for American boxers

The Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, led by Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-PA), is scheduled to hold a hearing today at 10:15 a.m. The session, titled “In Their Corner: Creating More Opportunities for American Boxers,” will take place in room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

The hearing will feature two panels of witnesses. The first panel includes Rep. Brian Jack (R-GA) and Rep. Steven Horsford (D-NV). The second panel consists of Lawrence Epstein, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Ultimate Fighting Championship; Lonnie Ali, widow of Muhammad Ali and co-founder of the Muhammad Ali Center; Patrick English, principal, partner and owner at Dines and English, LLC; and Andy Foster, executive officer of the California State Athletic Commission.

Credentialed media who wish to cover the hearing are required to RSVP via email. The event is open to the press and will be live-streamed on the Committee’s YouTube page.
