A Riverton, Wyoming man has been sentenced to 210 months in federal prison for distributing child pornography. Luke Everrett David, 25, received the sentence along with 10 years of supervised release from U.S. District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl on December 4 in Casper.

According to court documents, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) began investigating after receiving eight CyberTip reports between December 2024 and March 2025. The tips were submitted to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) by MediaLab/Kik and linked to David through common email addresses. Investigators obtained search warrants for David’s accounts and devices.

Forensic analysis of his Kik accounts found that David was responsible for at least 175 videos and 69 images of child pornography. This included distributing a new image and receiving artificial intelligence (AI) morphed child pornography images. Restitution for victims will be determined within the next 90 days.

The DCI ICAC Task Force conducted the investigation, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Mackenzie R. Morrison prosecuted the case.

“This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.  Led by the U.S. Attorneys' Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims,” according to the press release.
