Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a conversation with Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on December 9, 2025. According to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, the two officials continued their discussions regarding the implementation of President Trump's Comprehensive Plan to End the Conflict in Gaza.
The discussion also covered topics related to bilateral cooperation between the United States and Egypt. Additionally, Secretary Rubio and Foreign Minister Abdelatty addressed ongoing efforts aimed at achieving a humanitarian ceasefire in Sudan.
