The House Committee on Education and Workforce, chaired by Representative Tim Walberg (R-MI), is scheduled to review four bills aimed at increasing transparency and accessibility in higher education. The committee will meet tomorrow at 10:15 a.m. in the Rayburn House Office Building.
The agenda includes consideration of the Home School Graduation Recognition Act (H.R. 6392), which addresses recognition for homeschool graduates. Another bill, H.R. 6472, proposes changes to the Higher Education Act of 1965 to allow certain residents of Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, and the United States Virgin Islands to access in-state tuition rates.
Two additional bills are also set for markup: the Student Financial Clarity Act (H.R. 6498) and the College Financial Aid Clarity Act (H.R. 6502). These measures are designed to improve clarity around college costs and financial aid options for students.
The committee stated: "Tomorrow, at 10:15 a.m., the Committee on Education and Workforce, chaired by Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI), will mark up four bills to support homeschoolers, lower tuition barriers for U.S. territories, and make college costs and aid clearer for all students."
The session is open to press coverage and will be available via livestream on the Committee’s YouTube page.
