Rudolph M. Warnock, Jr., from Birmingham, Alabama, and Cleveland Anderson, of Canton, Mississippi, were sentenced to 12 years and 7 years in federal prison respectively for their involvement in a bribery scheme. The sentencing follows their conviction by a federal jury in July after an eight-day trial.
Warnock and Anderson faced charges including conspiracy to commit bribery. Additionally, Warnock was charged with conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud and the completed offense of honest services wire fraud. Both were convicted on all counts listed in the indictment.
Two co-defendants in the case, former City of Canton Aldermen Eric Gilkey and Andrew Grant, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery in November 2022. They are scheduled for sentencing on January 15, 2026, where they face up to five years’ imprisonment each. Sentencing decisions will be made by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory considerations.
