Jefferson County man pleads guilty to firearm charge linked to drug trafficking

A resident of Ringling, Oklahoma, Zachery David Parker, 38, has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm offense. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Parker admitted to one count of Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of Drug Trafficking Crime. This charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a potential fine of up to $250,000.

According to the indictment, Parker was found on May 7, 2025, in possession of nine firearms while involved in drug trafficking. The firearms included several shotguns and rifles: one 20 gauge break-open shotgun; one .410 gauge bolt-action shotgun; two .22 caliber semi-automatic rifles; one 5.56x45mm caliber semi-automatic rifle; as well as multiple pistols: one .32ACP caliber semi-automatic pistol; one .45ACP caliber semi-automatic pistol; one .40S&W caliber semi-automatic pistol; and one .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

The investigation leading to these charges was conducted by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted Parker’s plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma and ordered a presentence investigation report.

Sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge after reviewing federal sentencing guidelines and statutory factors. Until sentencing is complete, Parker will remain in custody with the United States Marshals Service.
