An Orleans Parish man has been sentenced to four years in federal prison after pleading guilty to robbing a bank in New Orleans. Acting United States Attorney Michael M. Simpson announced that Juan K. Simpson, 30, received the sentence on November 25, 2025, from United States District Judge Darrel James Papillion.
Simpson's prison term will run concurrently with any sentences he may receive from Gulfport, Mississippi Municipal Court and Picayune, Mississippi Municipal Court. Judge Papillion also ordered three years of supervised release for Simpson following his imprisonment and imposed a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.
According to court documents, Simpson robbed a Capital One Bank located on South Claiborne Avenue in New Orleans on November 25, 2024.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation led the investigation into the case. Assistant United States Attorney Mary Katherine Kaufman of the General Crimes Unit prosecuted the case.
