U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) published a series of posts on December 12 and 13, 2025, addressing issues related to immigration enforcement, public safety, and consumer protection.
In a post dated December 12, ICE responded to criticism from a member of Congress by stating: "Congressman, our ICE officers and agents enforce the laws YOU pass and we arrest the criminals who break the laws YOU pass. Why are you so keen on defending criminal illegal alien murderers, rapists, drug dealers, child sex offenders — the WORST of the worst we’re taking off https://t.co/JTtMmhnIqN"
Later that day, ICE Director Todd Lyons issued advice for consumers ahead of the holiday season. The agency posted: "Buy gift cards from authorized retailers, not from outside sources. ICE Director Todd Lyons provides you and your loved ones with helpful tips to avoid getting scammed during the holiday season. https://t.co/hgXH5nx0S9" This warning reflects ongoing concerns about scams targeting shoppers during periods of increased retail activity.
On December 13, ICE highlighted efforts to apprehend individuals with criminal convictions who have evaded deportation orders. In reference to one case, they wrote: "Cambodian criminal alien Phan Pom escaped ICE officers about as well as he escaped his SEXUAL ASSAULT, FELONY ASSAULT and LARCENY convictions. Considering his 1999 final removal order, Pom’s deportation should be swift. https://t.co/jx4DNtSrQ9" The mention of a final removal order dating back to 1999 indicates long-standing challenges in executing certain deportations.
