Robert J. "Bob" Troester U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma
Daniel Ceron-Ceron, a 38-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to 37 months in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm and reentering the United States after deportation. The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
According to public records, officers from the Edmond Police Department responded to a domestic incident at a residence on November 22, 2024. The victim reported that Ceron-Ceron pointed a gun at her head and put it in her mouth during an argument. Following a standoff at the scene, police arrested Ceron-Ceron and seized the weapon involved.
Records show that Ceron-Ceron had previously been removed from the United States to Mexico on September 23, 2020.
On March 4, 2025, a federal grand jury indicted Ceron-Ceron for being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm and for illegal reentry after removal. He pleaded guilty on May 7, 2025, admitting he possessed the weapon while unlawfully present in the country and knowingly reentered the U.S.
At his sentencing hearing on December 10, 2025, U.S. District Judge Jodi W. Dishman imposed the prison term. Judge Dishman stated: "the nature and circumstances of the offense, the need to protect the public, and the need to deter Ceron-Ceron from future crimes."
The investigation was conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement alongside the Edmond Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Edgmon prosecuted the case.
The prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America—a national initiative aimed at addressing illegal immigration, eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protecting communities from violent crime.
