Richardson man receives five-year sentence for mail theft

A Richardson resident has been sentenced to five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of stolen mail, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs for the Eastern District of Texas.

Sir Darius Lamar Edmondson, 23, received a 60-month sentence and was ordered by U.S. District Judge Sean D. Jordan to pay $3,391.31 in restitution. The sentencing took place on December 15, 2025.

Court records show that Edmondson was found with stolen mail on October 30, 2023.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Morris.
