House subcommittee to examine challenges facing youth sports in upcoming hearing

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

The Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education, led by Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-CA), will hold a hearing titled "Benched: The Crisis in American Youth Sports and Its Cost to Our Future." The event is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Rayburn House Office Building, room 2175.

Witnesses set to testify include Tom Farrey, Executive Director of the Sports & Society Program at the Aspen Institute; Steve Boyle, Co-Founder and Executive Director of 2-4-1 Sports; Katherine Van Dyck, Senior Fellow at American Economic Liberties; and John O’Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer of Changing the Game Project.

The hearing is open to the press and will be live-streamed on the Committee’s YouTube page.
