A.S.K. Foods, LLC has announced a recall of certain 32-ounce containers of Publix Rice & Pigeon Peas due to the presence of undeclared soy. This recall affects only products sold at Publix locations in Florida.

The affected product is packaged in a plastic tray labeled as Publix Rice & Pigeon Peas, Net Wt. 32 OZ (2 LB) 907. The bottom label lists CAVATAPPI PASTA as the first ingredient and features a code on the lid of “5387-4”, “5387-5” or “5387-6”. According to the company, these containers have an ingredient statement intended for Three Cheese Mac & Cheese, which does not declare soy—an allergen present in the rice and pigeon peas dish.

There have been no reports of illnesses related to this recall so far. People with soy allergies or sensitivities are at risk for serious or potentially life-threatening reactions if they consume this product.

Consumers who purchased the recalled item can return it to the store for a full refund. For further questions, A.S.K. Foods, LLC can be reached at (717) 838-6356 x 132 from Monday through Sunday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST.
