U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) published a series of statements on December 19, 2025, through its official Twitter account, addressing the enforcement of federal immigration law and recent criminal convictions.
In one post, ICE stated: "JUSTICE SERVED! It doesn’t matter if you’re a judge, lawyer, or bystander — obstructing ICE or other federal law enforcement officers can result in felony charges. No one is above the law." (December 19, 2025).
Another message highlighted the conviction of an individual for multiple crimes: "Mexican criminal alien Israel Maldonado Pineda has been convicted for drug trafficking, aggravated assault, fraud, a weapons offense and more. He also faces several pending other charges." (December 19, 2025).
Addressing criticism from public officials regarding its operations, ICE wrote: "There is nothing unlawful about ICE upholding and enforcing federal immigration law, Rep. @Ilhan. The men and women Defending the Homeland are defending YOUR constituents from criminal illegal alien murders, rapists, gang members, drug dealers and more. Attacks on our" (December 19, 2025).
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is responsible for enforcing federal laws governing border control, customs, trade and immigration to promote homeland security and public safety.
