Troemner Farm, based in Atlantic Mine, Michigan, has announced a recall of its Troemner Family Farm branded Pfeffernusse Cookies in both 6 oz and 12 oz packages. The recall was issued after it was discovered that the cookies may contain milk, wheat, and soy that were not declared on the product labels. Individuals with allergies or severe sensitivities to these ingredients could be at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the affected products.

The recalled cookies were distributed to retail stores in Hancock and Calumet, Michigan. The products can be identified by the “Troemner Family Farm” brand name, the product name “Pfeffernusse Cookies,” and their weight of either 6 oz or 12 oz.

According to Troemner Farm, no illnesses related to this issue have been reported so far. The labeling oversight was found during routine inspections. "This missing labeling was revealed during routine inspections. Subsequent investigation indicates missing labels were a cause of human error," the company stated.

Customers who purchased the affected cookies are advised to return them to Troemner Farm at 48649 Larson Rd., Atlantic Mine, MI 49905 for a full refund or replacement with properly labeled products. Those with questions can contact the company at 312-497-1361.
