McKees Rocks man indicted for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition

A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted Mark Lamarr Beavers, a 26-year-old resident of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, for allegedly violating federal firearms law. The announcement was made by First Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.

The indictment alleges that on or about August 26, 2025, Beavers, who is a convicted felon, possessed two firearms and ammunition. Federal law prohibits individuals with felony convictions from possessing firearms or ammunition.

If convicted, Beavers could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The final sentence would depend on the seriousness of the offense and his prior criminal history as determined by federal sentencing guidelines.

Assistant United States Attorney Kelly M. Locher is prosecuting the case. The investigation leading to the indictment was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Squad.

“An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty,” according to the press release.
