Dallas man sentenced to over six years for armed convenience store robberies

A Dallas man has received a federal prison sentence for his involvement in a series of violent robberies, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs for the Eastern District of Texas.

Victor Heredia, 20, pleaded guilty to two counts of Hobbs Act robbery and was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Michael J. Truncale on January 5, 2026.

Court records show that on November 6, 2023, Heredia robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store located on N. Josey Lane in Carrollton and fired a gun into the ceiling during the incident. The following day, he committed another armed robbery at a different 7-Eleven store on E. Rosemead Parkway in Carrollton.

The case is part of Operation Take Back America, which "marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime," according to information provided in the release.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the Carrollton Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew T. Johnson prosecuted the case.
