Spring & Mulberry has announced a voluntary recall of its Mint Leaf Date Sweetened Chocolate Bar, lot #025255, due to possible Salmonella contamination. The product, sold in 2.1 oz packages, has been available online and at select retail locations across the United States since September 15, 2025.
Salmonella can cause serious infections, particularly in young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare cases, the infection can spread to the bloodstream and lead to more severe conditions such as arterial infections or arthritis. Individuals experiencing these symptoms are advised to seek medical attention.
The recalled chocolate bars can be identified by their teal box color and the lot code #025255 printed on both the back of the packaging and inner flow wrap.
According to Spring & Mulberry, "There have been no reported illnesses or adverse health effects reported to date, however, Spring & Mulberry is proactively recalling the specific lot in which this risk applies to protect public health." The company explained that "The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by a third-party laboratory."
Customers who purchased this product are asked to dispose of it. Refunds are available by contacting Spring & Mulberry at recalls@springandmulberry.com with a photo of the lot code.
