Francisco Baez, a 53-year-old resident of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 46 months in prison for drug trafficking. The sentencing took place on January 15, 2026, and was handed down by United States District Judge Jennifer P. Wilson.
United States Attorney Brian D. Miller stated that Baez pleaded guilty on January 29, 2025, to one count of possession with intent to distribute at least 40 grams of fentanyl. Investigators carried out controlled purchases from Baez during which he sold about seven grams of fentanyl to a confidential source. Authorities later executed a search warrant at his residence and found approximately 137 grams of fentanyl, more than $20,000 in cash, and nearly one kilogram of a cutting agent.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) led the investigation into the case. Assistant United States Attorney Scott Ford prosecuted the matter.
"This case was brought as part of a district wide initiative to combat the nationwide epidemic regarding the use and distribution of heroin. Led by the United States Attorney’s Office, the Heroin Initiative targets heroin traffickers operating in the Middle District of Pennsylvania and is part of a coordinated effort among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who commit heroin related offenses," according to information provided by officials.
