A Poplar resident, Chandler Duran Longtree, 19, has been sentenced to 40 months in prison and six years of supervised release for sexually abusing a minor on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme.

Longtree pleaded guilty in September 2025 to one count of sexual abuse. Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided over the case.

According to court documents, the incident occurred on January 18, 2025. Jane Doe was drinking with a group of young people before leaving with Longtree and Payton Montclair, both 18 at the time, to Longtree’s house. While there, she was sexually assaulted by both men. Doe reported the assault and underwent an examination by a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), which provided evidence consistent with sexual assault.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kalah Paisley prosecuted the case. The investigation was conducted by the FBI and Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice.
