A Bridgeport man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for unlawfully possessing a firearm. Marques Isiah Lindsay, 37, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport. He will also serve three years of supervised release following his imprisonment.

According to court records and statements made during proceedings, on September 17, 2023, Bridgeport Police tried to stop a vehicle with Lindsay as a passenger near Washington Terrace. When the car stopped, Lindsay left the back seat and attempted to run away but was quickly apprehended. A search revealed he had a loaded Glock 26 9mm handgun with an extended magazine, another extended magazine, and $420 in cash.

Authorities noted that Lindsay’s criminal history extends over about two decades and includes felony convictions for drug offenses, robbery, larceny, and other crimes under state law. Federal law prohibits individuals previously convicted of felony offenses from possessing firearms or ammunition that has traveled in interstate or foreign commerce.

Lindsay has been held since his arrest. On October 1, 2025, he pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Bridgeport Police Department conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Gresham prosecuted the case.

"David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut," announced these details.
