A Springfield, Massachusetts man has been sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison for fentanyl distribution and possession of a firearm. Lamiek White, 31, received a sentence of 147 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release from U.S. District Court Judge Mark G. Mastroianni.

White pleaded guilty in September 2025 to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, as well as one count of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.

Authorities said that between November 2022 and June 2023, White conspired with others to distribute fentanyl. In June 2023, law enforcement searched White’s residence in Springfield and found about 200 grams of fentanyl along with a firearm that had its serial number removed.

United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Boston Division, announced the sentencing. The investigation involved assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives; Massachusetts State Police; several county sheriff’s offices; and local police departments including Holyoke, Springfield, Chicopee, West Springfield and Easthampton. Assistant U.S. Attorney Neil L. Desroches prosecuted the case.

"This case is part of the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) initiative established by Executive Order 14159, Protecting the American People Against Invasion," according to the announcement. "The HSTF is a whole-of-government partnership dedicated to eliminating criminal cartels, foreign gangs, transnational criminal organizations, and human smuggling and trafficking rings operating in the United States and abroad." The statement also noted that HSTF Boston includes agents from multiple federal agencies as well as state and local law enforcement agencies.
