Ernst recognizes The Coffee Grounds as Monroe County’s small business of the week

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, has named The Coffee Grounds of Monroe County as her Small Business of the Week. This recognition is part of her ongoing initiative during the 119th Congress to highlight a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“The Boleys and Aeschlimans have brewed up a welcoming space for their neighbors and offered quality coffee and baked goods for folks to grab on the way to work,” said Chair Ernst. “By listening to Iowans’ request for a convenient, on-the-go cup of coffee, they’ve poured their energy into Main Street, leaving a lasting mark on the community.”

The Coffee Grounds was established in October 2023 and operates as both a drive-through and walk-in coffee shop in Monroe County. It is family- and veteran-owned, sourcing its products from local Iowa suppliers. In its brief period since opening, it has become a popular spot on Albia’s Main Street.

Senator Ernst will continue this weekly recognition throughout the session.

The Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, chaired by Senator Ernst, examines aspects of the federal budget and provides policy options for its components while supporting informed decision-making on national fiscal priorities. The committee operates in Washington, D.C., contributing to congressional budget processes through oversight and planning according to its official website.
