Jason R. Coody, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida
Ulysses Robinson, Jr., a 41-year-old resident of Pensacola, Florida, has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for armed robbery and related firearm offenses. The announcement was made by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
According to court records, Robinson and his accomplice Ladarryl Paige entered a business on North Davis Highway on December 16, 2024. They held several people at gunpoint and took about $10,000 in cash as well as marijuana found at the location. During the incident, Robinson discharged his firearm while forcing victims to comply with their demands. Both men were identified through video surveillance and electronic evidence collected by law enforcement.
Robinson is a previously convicted felon who had served time in state prison prior to this case.
“I am incredibly proud to deliver yet another successful prosecution under Operation Take Back America, which was launched at the direction of President Donald J. Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi to unleash the full power of the Department of Justice to incapacitate violent offenders, like these defendants, who have terrorized our communities with their crimes. My office will continue to aggressively prosecute and send to federal prison every dangerous felon who dares to threaten the safety of our residents,” said U.S. Attorney Heekin.
Cheryl Harrell, Acting Special Agent in Charge of ATF Tampa Field Division, commented: “This is an incredible public safety win for residents of Northwest Florida. We’re proud to have leveraged our expertise to help Pensacola Police Department bring this violent offender to justice.”
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives worked together with the Pensacola Police Department during the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney David L. Goldberg prosecuted the case.
This case falls under Operation Take Back America—a national initiative that uses resources from the Department of Justice targeting illegal immigration and organized crime while aiming to reduce violent crime and trafficking activities.
