A Buffalo man has been sentenced to 40 months in prison after being convicted of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Alexis Perez, Jr., 22, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Donna Duncan, law enforcement stopped Perez’s vehicle on November 6, 2024, and executed a search warrant that led to the seizure of a shotgun and ammunition. Authorities then searched his home on Cambridge Avenue and found 28 grams of fentanyl, 89 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl and cocaine, and 24 grams of cocaine.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), led by Special Agent-in-Charge Farhana Islam of the New York Enforcement Division, along with the Cheektowaga Police Department under Chief Brian Coons.
