A resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a federal charge involving the sexual exploitation of a child. According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Claylon Leon Austin, also known as Clayton Leon Austin, age 38, admitted guilt to one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Child/Use of a Child to Produce a Visual Depiction. This offense carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
Prosecutors said that between March 13 and March 14, 2025, Austin enticed a minor to participate in sexually explicit acts with the intent to create videos. The device used for recording was manufactured outside Oklahoma.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police.
The plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow in federal court in Muskogee. Judge Snow ordered a presentence investigation report before sentencing is determined.
A U.S. District Court Judge will decide on Austin's final sentence after reviewing relevant guidelines and statutory factors.
Austin remains in custody under the supervision of the United States Marshals Service until his sentencing hearing.
