Fort Dodge man receives 25-year sentence for meth distribution conspiracy

Timothy T. Duax U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa

Aaron StandsAndLooksBack, also known as Aaron Woodman, from Fort Dodge, Iowa, has been sentenced to 300 months in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. The sentencing took place on January 29, 2026, following his guilty plea on June 4, 2025, in federal court in Sioux City.

According to evidence presented during the plea and sentencing hearings, StandsAndLooksBack was involved with others in distributing at least 45 kilograms of methamphetamine between December 2020 and December 2023. He acquired the drugs through purchase or theft from various sources and then distributed them further. Notably, he admitted to stealing significant amounts of methamphetamine from his mother—who was also convicted and sentenced to federal prison for trafficking—and redistributing it in the Fort Dodge area.

The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand. In addition to the prison term, StandsAndLooksBack will serve five years of supervised release after completing his imprisonment. There is no possibility of parole in the federal system. He remains in custody of the United States Marshal until he is transferred to a federal facility.
