Two recent polls indicate that a majority of Americans support the deportation of undocumented immigrants with criminal records and favor increased cooperation between local authorities and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The findings come as President Donald J. Trump’s administration continues to prioritize stricter immigration enforcement.
The Trump Administration stated, "As Radical Left Democrats continue their reckless obstruction, two new polls resoundingly confirm President Donald J. Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration is massively popular with the American people. From mass deportations of criminal illegal aliens to empowering ICE as they enforce our nation’s laws, Americans are rallying behind President Trump’s agenda — and Democrats’ extremism couldn’t be more out of touch."
The statement continued, "These results expose the extremism of the Radical Left: While Democrats fuel lawlessness and chaos, everyday Americans stand squarely with President Trump to deport criminals, reclaim sovereignty, and restore safety."
According to the administration, efforts will continue in pursuit of what it describes as secure borders and safer communities. "The Trump Administration will not relent in its pursuit of secure borders, safe streets, and an agenda that puts America First," the statement said.
Polls cited by the administration show significant public backing for measures such as removing undocumented immigrants who have committed crimes and increasing collaboration between local governments and federal immigration authorities.
