Four Beaumont federal prison inmates indicted for murder

Four inmates at the Federal Correctional Complex in Beaumont, Texas, have been indicted on murder charges. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs for the Eastern District of Texas.

The defendants are identified as Conrad Edward Nedd, also known as CJ, age 41; Jeremy Crow, age 32; Ramon James Ybarra, also known as Apache, age 35; and Curtis Ray McClendon, age 43. According to the indictment returned by a federal grand jury this week, they are charged with murder related to an incident that occurred on November 21, 2025.

Authorities allege that the four inmates were involved in an altercation that led to the death of another inmate within the facility.

If found guilty, each defendant could face a maximum sentence of life in federal prison.

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI and the Bureau of Prisons. Assistant U.S. Attorney John B. Ross is prosecuting the case.

U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs emphasized that “A federal indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.”
