House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington (R-Texas) issued a statement regarding the January jobs report, highlighting the addition of 130,000 jobs and a decrease in unemployment to 4.3%. Arrington attributed these results to Republican-led policies under President Trump, referencing measures such as permanent tax relief, energy deregulation, and reduced federal spending.

"Today’s blockbuster jobs report is proof President Trump’s and Republicans’ America First, pro-growth policies enacted in the One Big Beautiful Bill—permanent tax relief, energy deregulation, and reduced federal spending—are working. Not only did employers add 130,000 jobs in January, more than double expectations, but unemployment ticked down to 4.3%," Arrington stated.

He also noted that revised data showed nearly 900,000 fewer jobs than previously reported during President Biden's administration. "What makes these jobs numbers even more impressive is this report makes unmistakably clear President Trump inherited a far more fragile labor market than originally thought, with a significant downward revision of nearly 900,000 previously reported jobs almost entirely under President Biden," he said.

Arrington emphasized continued support for current economic strategies: "Whether it’s lower interest rates and inflation, higher real wages and take-home pay, or surging economic growth and jobs numbers, it's clear—Republican policies are working for the American people. We cannot shrink back from this historic moment. Under the leadership of President Trump, we must use reconciliation to build on our successes by eliminating more waste, fraud, and abuse; and continue to Make America Affordable Again."
