CBP AMO details Long Beach marine interdiction near San Clemente Island

CBP AMO, the Air and Marine Operations branch of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, posted a series of updates on its official X account detailing recent interdiction efforts off the coast of California.

On February 11, CBP AMO shared an account of a maritime operation conducted earlier in the month: "WATCH INTERDICTION AT SEA: On February 2, the Long Beach Marine Unit launched to interdict a panga-type vessel target of interest traveling up the west side of San Clemente Island, California. The Coastal Interceptor Vessel crew utilized two warning rounds before the panga" (posted February 11, 2026).
