According to court documents, Devario Talley and Brett Roelandt, both 35 and currently federal inmates, are charged with two counts of forcible assault inflicting bodily injury. The incident reportedly occurred on December 26, 2025, when the two inmates attacked and injured two staff members of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Faiza Alhambra is prosecuting the cases.

Other indictments announced include Ataven Tatum, 46, from Kansas City, Kansas, who was charged with one count of felon in possession of a firearm. This case is also being investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney David Zabel.

Additionally, Derek Marsocci, 63, from Centerview, Missouri, faces one count each of receipt and possession of child pornography. The FBI is investigating this case as well, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Faiza Alhambra leading the prosecution.

The child pornography charges are part of Project Safe Childhood—a national initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating efforts among federal, state, and local agencies to locate offenders and rescue victims. Authorities emphasized that an indictment is an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
