Pulaski man receives 25-year federal sentence for repeated sexual exploitation of minor

Scott Goodrich, a 54-year-old resident of Pulaski, New York, was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to four counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of possession of child pornography. The sentencing took place on February 12, 2026.

According to court documents, Goodrich admitted to sexually abusing a child over several years. He created images and videos documenting the abuse and stored them on his electronic devices. In addition, he used social media platforms to distribute and receive child pornography involving other victims. Investigators found that Goodrich possessed nearly 200 files of child pornography he produced himself and hundreds more that he obtained online.

First Assistant United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III commented: “The sexual exploitation of a child is among the most vile and reprehensible crimes we prosecute, and this defendant committed this crime over and over again. The defendant not only abused a child, but he documented his crimes in images and videos for his own gratification, compounding the harm and perpetuating the victimization. This 25-year sentence reflects the gravity of the defendant’s conduct and sends a clear message that those who prey on children will be identified, prosecuted, and removed from our communities.”

Special Agent in Charge Erin Keegan added: "Scott Goodrich committed horrific acts by repeatedly abusing a vulnerable child, producing and storing graphic images and videos of the abuse, and distributing deeply exploitative child pornography depicting other innocent victims online. This investigation demonstrates HSI's relentless pursuit of justice for victims and our determination to hold offenders fully accountable. Together with our partners, we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety of every child and safeguard our communities from these heinous crimes."

In addition to his prison term, United States District Judge Anthony J. Brindisi ordered Goodrich to serve 15 years of supervised release following his incarceration. Upon release, Goodrich must register as a sex offender.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) with assistance from the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ben Gillis prosecuted the case.

This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood—a national initiative led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices alongside federal agencies—which coordinates efforts across different levels of law enforcement to address online sexual exploitation of children.
