Secretary Rubio meets Indonesian foreign minister to discuss strategic partnership

Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a meeting with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono in Washington, D.C. The two officials reaffirmed the importance of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between their countries and its role in promoting security and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.

According to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, "Secretary Rubio and Foreign Minister Sugiono affirmed the contribution of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to a secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific region and recommitted to deepening mutually beneficial economic and security cooperation. The Secretary also expressed gratitude to the Foreign Minister for Indonesia’s support for the Board of Peace as a founding member, as well as for its commitment to post-conflict reconstruction in Gaza."
