The Department of State has announced the release of a newly digitized edition of "Foreign Relations of the United States, 1958–1960, Volume V, Microfiche Supplement, American Republics." This publication serves as a supplement to the original print volume covering American republics during the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Between 1993 and 1998, the Foreign Relations series issued 13 microfiche supplements. These supplements provided facsimiles of additional documents that expanded on topics addressed in the main printed volumes from both the Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy subseries. The extra materials were originally excluded due to space constraints.

The Office of the Historian is now working to digitize these microfiche supplements. The digital editions are being added to an online portal that allows users to search full texts and sort documents by date.

The latest volume is available for free online and as an eBook through the Office of the Historian's website at https://history.state.gov/historicaldocuments/frus1958-60v05mSupp. Those seeking more information can contact the Office of the Historian at history@state.gov.
