A jury in Cedar Rapids has found Joshua James Cannady, a 51-year-old resident of Yucca Valley, California, guilty of eight drug-related charges. The verdict came after a three-day trial and about 90 minutes of jury deliberations.

Cannady was convicted on one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and seven counts of distribution of a controlled substance. According to evidence presented during the trial, Cannady collaborated with others to send methamphetamine and fentanyl from California to Iowa between May 2023 and November 2024.
