The House Committee on Small Business is scheduled to hold a hearing titled “Career and Technical Education: Developing the Future of Main Street Success” on Tuesday, February 24 at 10:00 AM ET. The hearing will take place in Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
The session aims to examine how career and technical education (CTE) programs serve as pathways into the workforce. It will also address how increasing the number of skilled workers could help reduce the ongoing labor shortage affecting small business growth.
Witnesses set to testify include Dr. Keith Gunuskey, Superintendent of Schools for Wallenpaupack Area School District; Mr. Mike Gibson, Executive Vice President of Associated General Contractors of Kansas; Dr. Nikki Nix, Chief Academic Officer at Godley Independent School District; and Mr. Zach Boren, Senior Vice President at Apprenticeships for America.
The hearing is open to the public and will be available for viewing online through the Committee’s YouTube channel.
