U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported a series of recent enforcement actions in posts on its official X account, including drug seizures, the arrest of an individual with alleged gang ties, and the interception of counterfeit goods.
On February 25, 2026, CBP shared that "Brownsville @CBPSouthTexas officers seized a load of cocaine valued at almost $500K. Officers discovered 16 hidden packages within the vehicle. CBP officers removed the packages which contained a total of 36lbs of alleged cocaine."
Later that day, CBP announced another incident involving law enforcement efforts against organized crime. According to their post from February 25, 2026: "Criminal illegal alien arrested! Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agents in Houston Texas arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador with ties to the 18th Street Gang. This criminal illegal alien has an active warrant for firearms and explosives offenses."
Additionally, CBP addressed concerns over counterfeit goods entering the United States. In a post dated February 25, 2026, they stated: "Counterfeit items may seem enticing due to their low prices and easy access, but they are not the best option. In January, CBP officers in Pittsburg seized over $300K of knockoff designer goods. The parcel from China contained high-end designer brand products, bearing the brand".
Customs and Border Protection is responsible for securing U.S. borders and enforcing customs laws across points of entry nationwide.
