A Las Vegas resident, Elijah Sylee Shelton, was sentenced to 150 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release for drug trafficking offenses. United States District Judge Andrew P. Gordon handed down the sentence after Shelton was found guilty of possessing methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine with the intent to distribute.
Court documents state that on June 29, 2023, Shelton had over 300 grams of methamphetamine, more than 45 grams of fentanyl, and nearly six grams of cocaine in his possession. The drugs were concealed in women’s purses hidden within the ventilation system of his apartment. At the time these crimes occurred, Shelton was already on federal supervised release due to previous felony convictions related to burglaries and firearms offenses.
In October 2025, a jury convicted Shelton on three counts: possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine; possession with intent to distribute fentanyl; and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
“First Assistant United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada and Special Agent in Charge Christopher S. Delzotto for the FBI Las Vegas Division made the announcement.”
The investigation involved both the FBI and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys James Gaeta and Joshua Brister.
