FAA revokes StarFlite Aviation certificate over falsified pilot training records

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has revoked the Air Carrier Certificate of StarFlite Aviation, a Houston-based operator, citing concerns over falsified pilot training records and unqualified management personnel.

According to the FAA, StarFlite’s management staff knowingly made false entries in the training records of at least 10 pilots, including the chief pilot. These fraudulent records indicated that check rides and competency checks were conducted on various aircraft when they had not actually taken place. The agency stated that as a result of these actions, StarFlite allowed unqualified pilots to operate at least 170 flights.

The FAA also determined that StarFlite lacks qualified management personnel necessary to ensure safe operations. The agency described this conduct as demonstrating “a disregard for the safety of the flying public.”

"StarFlite may appeal the FAA Emergency Order by filing a notice with the National Transportation Safety Board."

This emergency order comes amid ongoing efforts by aviation authorities to maintain high safety standards and prevent fraudulent practices within commercial air carriers.
