Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) announced that the committee is moving forward with H.R. 7613, known as the Airspace Location and Enhanced Risk Transparency (ALERT) Act of 2026. In a statement, Graves said, “The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee remains committed to moving the ALERT Act as expeditiously as possible in the next few weeks. We continue to work with the accident victims’ families, the NTSB, the aviation community, and our House colleagues. Our ultimate goal is to incorporate feedback from all those concerned and reach an agreement with the Senate to address the causes of the accident and improve the safety of our aviation system.”

The committee’s ongoing discussions involve collaboration with various stakeholders including families affected by accidents, members of Congress, representatives from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and others in aviation.
