ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

Frito-Lay has announced a voluntary recall of certain 8 oz. bags of Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chips due to the possible presence of jalapeño-flavored chips, which may contain undeclared milk. The company stated that people with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk could face a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the affected product. Frito-Lay emphasized that the chips are safe for those without dairy allergies or sensitivities.

The recalled products were distributed as early as January 15, 2026, and reached retailers such as grocery stores, convenience stores, drug stores, and local digital retailers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Other Miss Vickie’s products—including different sizes and flavors—are not included in this recall. Variety Packs are also unaffected.

Frito-Lay discovered the issue after being contacted by a consumer. The company reported that no allergic reactions have been linked to this matter so far.

Consumers who have purchased the affected product can find more information on the Miss Vickie’s Contact Us page or by calling 1-877-984-2543 during business hours (9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday). Those with milk allergies or sensitivities are advised not to eat the product and should dispose of it immediately.

Frito-Lay has notified the U.S. Food and Drug Administration about this action. According to Frito-Lay, "Per their process, we expect the FDA will later classify this recall, but this likely will not change the guidance to consumers." More details about the recall can be found on the Miss Vickie’s Contact Us page.
