Robert J. "Bob" Troester U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma

Two Venezuelan nationals, Ender Enrique Munoz Perez and Angel Raphael Medina-Taguaripano, have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Oklahoma City on charges of conspiracy to commit bank theft and bank theft. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

Court records state that between January 19 and January 20, 2026, Perez, Medina-Taguaripano, and other unidentified coconspirators visited several Arvest Bank ATM locations in Chickasha, Moore, and Norman, Oklahoma. According to the records, the group allegedly accessed the computer systems of the ATMs and installed malware as part of a method known as "jackpotting." This malware reportedly allowed them to control the machines remotely and instruct them to dispense cash. The alleged scheme resulted in approximately $235,500 being stolen from multiple ATMs.

A three-count indictment was returned on March 3, 2026. If convicted, each defendant could face up to five years in federal prison for conspiracy and up to ten years for each count of bank theft. Fines could reach $250,000 per count.

U.S. Attorney Troester emphasized: "The public is reminded that these charges are merely allegations, and that the defendants are innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt."

The FBI Oklahoma City Field Office led the investigation into this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Danielle London is prosecuting.

This prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America—a national initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and addressing violent crime across communities.
