Rob Larew and Jeff Kippley have been unanimously re-elected as President and Vice President of the National Farmers Union (NFU) at the organization’s 124th Anniversary Convention in New Orleans. Both will serve for another two-year term, continuing their leadership of an organization that represents family farmers and ranchers across the United States.

“I am honored to have been given the full faith and confidence of the Farmers Union membership to continue fighting for family agriculture every day,” said Larew. “America’s family farmers and ranchers are the cornerstone of our country, and NFU is the strongest, most dedicated national organization fighting for them.”

Larew has led NFU as president for three terms, focusing on increasing member engagement, especially among younger members. He was instrumental in launching NFU’s Fairness for Farmers campaign, which aims to highlight issues related to corporate consolidation in agriculture. Before becoming president, he worked in Congress, served at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and was Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Communications at NFU from 2016 to 2020. Larew continues to run his family farm in Greenville, West Virginia.

The National Farmers Union operates through state and local divisions nationwide according to its official website. The group promotes policy discussions and community building through annual conventions and fly-ins as described on its website. Its mission includes supporting economic well-being for family farmers, ranchers, and rural communities while promoting sustainable farming practices per its website.

“Being trusted by our family farmers and ranchers to advocate for them in Washington and across the country is one of the greatest honors of my career,” said Kippley. “We have important work ahead, and I look forward to partnering with President Larew once again to get it done.”

Kippley is beginning his third term as vice president. He farms with his family near Aberdeen, South Dakota, raising cattle as well as growing corn and soybeans. They also operate a tax business serving local farm families.

NFU provides educational initiatives, leadership training programs, cooperative efforts through state branches as detailed on its official site, advocates for fair farm policies according to its website, supports climate-resilient agricultural practices per information available online, and offers services designed to strengthen rural economies.
