Executive Asst. Commissioner Diane J. Sabatino highlights CBP canine teams’ recent enforcement actions

Executive Assistant Commissioner Diane J. Sabatino shared updates on U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) activities through a series of posts in March 2026, highlighting the agency's efforts in narcotics interdiction and compliance at various points of entry.

On March 10, 2026, Sabatino posted about an event at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport involving CBP Agriculture K9 Mookie. She wrote, "Gold medals weren't the only thing getting attention at @ATLAirport. @DFOAtlanta Agriculture K9 Mookie helped welcome home returning Olympians while playing a key role in compliance--proving teamwork doesn't stop at the finish line. #OFOProud"

The following day, on March 11, she highlighted a drug seizure at the Memphis Port of Entry: "At the Memphis POE, our @cbp MVP K9 came off the bench hot and sniffed out three packages of meth, cold. There’s nothing fashionable about smuggling 5lbs. of meth out of the country. Good thing is our @dfoneworleans K9s has a nose for crime.

Later that same day, Sabatino reported another significant narcotics seizure by CBP officers in Puerto Rico: "CBP officers assigned to the San Juan Field Office seized 361.55 pounds of cocaine concealed in false compartments within three shipping crates. Officers uncovered 147 brick-shaped packages, stopping the narcotics before they could enter U.S. commerce.
