The U.S. Department of Labor announced on March 19 the launch of a new website for its Center for Faith, following an executive order by President Trump that created a White House Faith Office and federal agency Centers for Faith.

The Center for Faith webpage provides resources for Americans who may have experienced religious discrimination in the workplace, as well as information for faith organizations about potential grant opportunities and retirement plans. "Americans should not face discrimination in the workplace because of their religion. Our new Center for Faith website offers helpful guidance for American workers and faith organizations interested in competing for grants at the Department of Labor," said U.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer. "Thanks to President Trump, Americans’ right to religious freedom is more protected than ever before," according to Chavez-DeRemer.

These resources follow a recent decision by the department to include language in funding opportunity announcements that encourages faith organizations to apply for discretionary grants open to the public. The webpage also offers materials related to efforts combating all forms of religious discrimination, including Christian bias and anti-Semitism; additional faith-related policy; contact information; and three original resources: an interactive map detailing state-level protections against religious discrimination, a guide to help faith organizations navigate federal grant processes, and a guide on retirement benefits.

On August 24, 2022, the Department of Labor announced $3.4 million Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations grants administered by the department’s Women’s Bureau and Employment and Training Administration. Phoenix, Arizona has been awarded $542,358 through the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, according to the Department of Labor.

More details about these initiatives can be found on the official roster page.
