Felon sentenced for drug conspiracy involving methamphetamine distribution in Tulsa

Clinton J. Johnson U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma

Kenneth Lee Camp, a prior felon and gang member from Tulsa, was sentenced on March 31 for his role in a drug conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in the area, according to U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address methamphetamine trafficking across state lines into Tulsa. Camp, identified as a high-ranking member of the Indian Brotherhood gang, conspired with co-defendants Jeremiah Jacob James Harper and Billy Gene Talley to distribute the illegal substance.

During the investigation that began in 2022, authorities executed a search warrant at Camp and Harper’s residence. They discovered over two pounds of methamphetamine, $2,800 in cash, firearms, ammunition, and several cellphones containing drug-related conversations among the defendants and others. Court records also indicate that Camp has an extensive criminal record. While under investigation for this crime, he faced additional charges related to assaulting a pregnant woman and obstructing police officers. Following his sentencing by U.S. District Judge Gregory K. Frizzell—who ordered him to serve 180 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release—Camp was taken into custody pending transfer to federal prison.

Harper pleaded guilty to Distribution of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Use of Communication Facility; he received a sentence on March 2 of 60 months imprisonment with four years supervised release. Talley pleaded guilty to Drug Conspiracy; he was sentenced on March 16 to serve 120 months imprisonment with five years supervised release.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Tulsa Police Department investigated the case while Assistant U.S. Attorney Niko Boulieris prosecuted it.
