The Department of Homeland Security announced on Apr. 1 that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued an arrest detainer requesting Dallas authorities not to release Orvin Bayardo Fuentes Borjas, a Honduran national arrested in Irving, Texas, for possession of child pornography.

This case highlights ongoing efforts by ICE to detain individuals accused of serious crimes who are also subject to immigration enforcement actions.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, the Irving Police Department arrested Fuentes Borjas on March 3 after receiving a tip. He was charged with felony possession of 50 images depicting child sexual abuse materials and booked into Dallas County Jail pending transfer to ICE custody.

“Every single day, ICE is working to remove criminal illegal aliens like this sicko arrested for possession of 50 child pornography images. ICE asked Dallas to not release this pedophile from jail back into Texas communities,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, ICE law enforcement will not allow criminal illegal aliens to prey on innocent children.”

Authorities report that Fuentes Borjas failed to appear at his immigration hearing and was issued a final order of removal on February 3, 2020.

The Department of Homeland Security continues its efforts in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies as part of broader initiatives aimed at addressing both public safety concerns and immigration enforcement.
