Dallas Charles Driskell, a 40-year-old resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma, pleaded guilty on Mar. 31 to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Driskell faces up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
This case is significant as it highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to address gun-related offenses involving individuals with prior felony convictions.
According to the indictment, Driskell knowingly possessed both a revolver and a shotgun on July 1, 2025. At the time, he had previously been convicted of an offense punishable by more than one year in prison. The investigation was conducted by multiple agencies including the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Muskogee Police Department, Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The plea was accepted by Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Judge Robertson also ordered that a presentence investigation report be completed before sentencing takes place.
A U.S. District Court Judge will determine Driskell's sentence after reviewing federal sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors. In the meantime, Driskell remains in custody under supervision of the United States Marshals Service pending his sentencing hearing.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Olivia Staubus represented the government during these proceedings.
