On April 6, Banks reported the interception of narcotics near San Diego. He wrote, "DEADLY MIX INTERCEPTED A routine highway operation turned into a major drug interdiction near San Diego, CA. Agents stopped a grey sedan; after a brief interview, a USBP K9 was deployed—uncovering cardboard boxes in the trunk stuffed with a total of 27 packages of narcotics."
Later that day, Banks described an attempt by an individual with a criminal record to enter the United States illegally near Spot, Arizona. He stated on April 6: "CRIMINAL ALIEN TRIES TO SLIP THROUGH An aggravated felon thought he could blend in among a group of five - but he was wrong. The group attempted to enter the U.S. illegally near Spot, AZ. Record checks revealed that one Mexican national had a prior conviction for two counts"
On April 7, Banks highlighted interagency cooperation leading to another drug seizure: "INTERDICTION ALERT Interagency cooperation with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the successful interception of more than 18 lbs. of cocaine in Escondido, CA. During a traffic stop, a K9 alert led law enforcement to custom-built compartments within the SUV’s"
These incidents underscore ongoing efforts by federal and local agencies to intercept illegal drugs and prevent individuals with criminal histories from entering the country.
