Chief Michael W. Banks, a law enforcement official, shared details of recent drug interdiction and border security operations in a series of posts on April 6 and 7, 2026.

On April 6, Banks reported the interception of narcotics near San Diego. He wrote, "DEADLY MIX INTERCEPTED A routine highway operation turned into a major drug interdiction near San Diego, CA. He stated on April 6: "CRIMINAL ALIEN TRIES TO SLIP THROUGH An aggravated felon thought he could blend in among a group of five - but he was wrong. On April 7, Banks highlighted interagency cooperation leading to another drug seizure: "INTERDICTION ALERT Interagency cooperation with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the successful interception of more than 18 lbs. of cocaine in Escondido, CA. These incidents underscore ongoing efforts by federal and local agencies to intercept illegal drugs and prevent individuals with criminal histories from entering the country.
